This page explains how to permanently delete the data that Abohawabid (আবহাওয়াবিদ), the free weather app published by yvortex, stores about you — the exact steps, what gets removed, and the little we keep afterwards.
1. How to delete your data
You can delete everything yourself, from inside the app. It takes about ten seconds and needs no email, no form, and no waiting period.
- Open Abohawabid on your phone.
- Tap .
- Scroll down to the section.
- Tap .
- Confirm when the app asks.
Deletion starts the moment you confirm. If your connection drops part-way through, the app tells you so and you can simply run it again — repeating it is safe.
2. Who this page applies to
This page covers Abohawabid (আবহাওয়াবিদ), the free weather app for Bangladesh published by yvortex on Google Play. Package com.yvortex.abohawabid.
Abohawabid has no accounts, no passwords and no sign-in. Your data is tied to an anonymous identifier that your device generates the first time you open the app — which is why deletion happens in the app rather than through a login on this website.
3. What gets deleted
Confirming Delete my data permanently removes all of the following from our servers:
- Your anonymous account and profile — the anonymous identifier itself, along with any occupation and crop preferences you chose to enter.
- Your saved location and preferences — the division, district and upazila you selected, and your language choice.
- Your field reports, together with every photo attached to them.
- Your Citizen Science contributions, together with their photos and their message threads — including every message exchanged between you and our team, and any images sent inside those messages.
- Your push notification subscriptions — the messaging token for your device and the weather-warning topics it was subscribed to.
Deleting a single Citizen Science contribution on its own (from ) also deletes that contribution’s message thread and its images. Deleting your data removes every thread at once.
4. What we keep, and for how long
Three things survive deletion. None of them identifies you.

5. If you have already uninstalled the app
The in-app option needs the app installed. If you have already removed Abohawabid and still want your data deleted, email us at [email protected]. We will delete all server-side data and respond within 30 days.
One thing that helps: because we hold no name, email address or phone number, your email address alone does not tell us which data is yours. Tell us roughly when you used the app and which upazila you had selected, and we will find and remove what we can.
